Ambrose Property Group makes strategic hire in key leadership role
James A. Thurston joins as Chief Financial Officer
INDIANAPOLIS – Ambrose Property Group announced today that it has made a prominent addition to its executive leadership team with the hiring of James A. Thurston as Chief Financial Officer.

The addition of Jim to the Ambrose team marks a notable step in our continued commitment to operational excellence,” said President and Chief Investment Officer Jason Sturman. “Jim brings an impressive resume of experience that we are confident will be a perfect complement to Ambrose’s mission, and we are excited to welcome him to the Ambrose team.”
As Chief Financial Officer, Jim will lead Ambrose’s accounting and business operations, support growth in Ambrose’s fund business, advance organizational infrastructure and streamline processes and procedures.
Jim comes to Ambrose with an executive-level background in finance and accounting leadership with extensive commercial real estate expertise and including private equity and insurance. He is the founder of Thurston Advisory & Consulting, where he spent the last two years helping several commercial real estate and other clients maximize operational efficiencies or setting the foundations for growth. Jim’s prior real estate roles include serving as Chief Accounting Officer at General Growth Properties where he participated in the post-bankruptcy turnaround of the nation’s second largest mall owner. He also led various international accounting and finance functions over a 10-year period at Simon Property Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University and earned his Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management. He holds both his CPA and CGMA designations.

Ambrose is developing new e-commerce, industrial and logistics projects locally in Indianapolis, Mount Comfort, Monrovia, Plainfield, Elkhart and Ft. Wayne. The company also has projects under development in Cincinnati, Kansas City and Denver.
